A note from Dr June

Retired Clinical Psychologist and Facilitator for FtF Groups

“When someone dear to you dies by suicide it is so hard to imagine a way forward. This feels like no other bereavement. Those around may try to support and understand, but the chance to speak with others in a similar situation is special and precious. In our groups you have a way to share thoughts and feelings with others, all of whom have had someone close to them take their own life.

Groups meet online, so no need to travel or to face being in a room where you may be uncomfortable. Our facilitators all have training and experience in being with people going through very difficult times. They are there on screen throughout the sessions, helping participants speak as much or as little as they want to, and allowing them to support each other.

Facing the Future Groups aim to do just what the name says, helping you Face the Future by sharing with a group. I have seen people gradually come to a better acceptance of their dreadful loss and see a way forward for themselves and the others they met on screen.”
